Put Power Steering on my 01-04 Sportsman

I'll bet it's sweet. $750 for a kit is hard to swallow though.

Very sweet! Wife loves it and boys love it for plowing snow!

Cheaper than factory.. I will get +$750 for it if I sell it or it will be taken off and put on another machine. No modifications were made to the machine.

Eek, that's 25% of the purchase price of my 2005 Sportsman!

Ok a more legitimate reply, does the PS motor draw hard on the battery? Would you be concerned about winching with the front wheels turned full lock?

This is great news! It's funny...at one time SuperATV had the '04.5 700 listed as compatible. I see that got pulled. I've gone back and forth on this. Not sure I want to tear into the old girl at this point as nice as it would be to have power steering on it.

I paid $6200 for mine in 02. It has 200 hrs and 1200 miles. It may not be worth much dollar wise but it's ever bit as good as a new machine to me.

I need to do some amp draw testing. I have to think that the marketing department brags about how much power the steering motor puts out in watts, but knows that that's only at full stall current. Seldom are you ever putting the system under any condition where you're putting the system under full load.
Keep in mind, if you aren't putting power into the system, it's not pulling power either. Pushing or holding the bars against full lock is kinda like those idiots at walmart trying to make it into the parking stall by holding their steering wheel way at the end causing the pump to push oil past the relief valve, it's just stupid...

There's a thread going about eps on the SuperATV forum page.
Modified it to fit my 02. It should cover 01-04 models and not just sportsman.
I think I can easily make it fit older models with more modifications, but haven't tried one of those yet.

I have a 2004 sports 500 I want to put power steering on it can you help with more information .thanks

Any help would be awesome as i have a shoulder injury thst prevents me from riding for any long period of time

Great to hear it turned out good for you too. Several months back I installed the Super ATV EZ Steer kit on my 2021 sportsman 570. I've put on about 300 miles since and it's been flawless.

Regarding amp draw, I haven't measured but I have ridden at night with all the lights on (including an aftermarket light bar) and there is no dimming when the steering is engaged.
