New to the site here, just had a question about my bike i just bought used. I bought a 2011 Sportsman 550 with 22 miles on it last week. From my brief investigation it wasnt ridden too hard and the guy I bought it from was a responsible Dad type.

I went riding Saturaday morning in a new neighborhood down the road from my house. I rode about 3/4 mile to the riding spot, and ended up riding for about 45 minutes and hauled ass back to the house at about 50 mph. When i hopped off the bike i smelled a brake/ clutch burning smell and when I further nvestigated it seems to be rising out from the right back fender area. Everything was hot on the back end bc of the exhuast so I don't it was burning plastic or anything. Nevertheless, i still couldn't figure it out.

Anyone have a clue as to what this may be?

The "new" burning off the exhaust? Check the rear brake? See if it is "dragging".

There have been problems of the exhaust melting plastics, but sounds more like things just burning in. Keep an eye on the under seat area by the exhaust though.:nzd:
