Hello all! I installed a new MotoAlliance winch today on a 2020 XP1000 and all went well except for one problem. Using the dash switch the winch goes out and in with no issues. Using the remote the winch goes out with no issues, but when you click the "in" button the solenoid will click, click, click while reeling in, then stop, then it starts pulling in again and click click click.... I'd really appreciate any advice.

A chattering relay is normally due to low voltage on the relay control circut.

Yes, licking the batteries will accelerate the oxidation process - don't forget to lick the battery posts in you car, truck, motorcycle, smoke detectors and flashlight too. I'd recommend licking the battery posts in your electric car and truck, but they are sealed and the best you might do is spit or piss on them.

I saw in the local paper this morning virtually 100% of Rivian electric vehicles are being recalled for a steering defect.

Pretty simple - the battery died from running the winch for no reason (the current draw may be higher in retract operation vs extend operation) - replace the battery with a properly activated fully charged battery and recharge the battery with a 1.25 amp (or less) automatic charger after each operating session involving winch use.
