My riding style requires me to have tools and parts on board the ATV.
The new 850XP Touring has a rear rack that measures about 4" with the rear seat in place. NOT Good!!!
So with a bit of conduit and welding wire, here's what I came up with...

Everything seems rear sturdy. Hope the Michigan trails and trees agree!

I am thinking of adding this glove box from West Marine.
Inside dimensions: 11 3/4''L x 4''W x 6 5/8''D.
Lockable and will fit in the space underneath the cargo box.

Nearly ready for KY next week.

Yes I did. Temporary deal til I think of a better way of mounting the GPSs!!!
I am curious how long it is compared to an Outty Max XT.
I'll have to put it together and measure...after the paint dries.
I've tried the spray on Duplicolor bed lining...so-so results.
Thought I'd try rubberized undercoating this time. We'll see.

This is what I mean!!!

Photobucket & iPhone are problematic.
I welded little brackets to the conduit where the composite rack bolts on. Used existing bolts and locations to attach new rack.
Used rear brushguard bolt holes for bottom of braces.
No soldering. Had to weld pieces together.

Never rely on a back seat nag for directions. You'll get lost, break down/run out of gas, and die of starvation! LOL

CanAm Max XT w/ front and rear bumpers is 96.5" long.
Popo w/ front bumper and Back Porch is 101" long!!!
Any longer and I'd need one that articulates in the middle!
Here's a closeup of the mounting brackets. I used the OEM bolts.

Bolted to the rear brush guard and tabs I welded to rack.

I don't think I'll like the rubberized undercoating. It is still flaking off when I touch it.
Kentucky awaits so the repainting will have to be postponed until we get back.
