I just bought a 2000 Sportsman 500, and I'm replacing all the fluids in it. Getting to the radiator drain valve is driving me nuts. The ATV has the front rack and bumper. I tried to reach the valve from the top. I took off the front rack and top cover, and I can see the valve at the bottom of the radiator, on the front, but there's no way to get my hand between the radiator and the stuff in front of it to reach it.

Do I really need to take off the bumper, grille guard, brush guard and a side shield to get to the valve, or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

you should be able to take just the side shields and protector screen(if it's still on there) and get to it from the bottom side. when i did mine it took a lil working to get it loose. don't be too rough with it, it is plastic going into the plastic tank. the block has a drain on too ,that lil bolt on the water pump housing
