700 efi ranger want idle. have to hold gas to start. replaced throttle position sensor but it did nothing. if i adjust throttle cable so it will idle right then when warm it idles too high and you cant shift but still cant idle it down.

The IAC(Idle Air Control) on the throttle body can cause an issue with the cold/warm idle.Not saying thats the problem,but a place to start.I would make sure it is plugged in good and clean.You can do a test with an ohm meter if you have a manual to tell you how.

thanks, ill try that. it fouls plugs every 3 weeks or so. runs great if you matt down on it to drive
