RE: Safety recall and brake questions

Call from dealer today, unit is done. Rear pads replaced and brake system bled, all is in good working order. $68 P&L for brakes, recall work covered under CPSC recall by Polaris.

Dealer informs me that brake pedal for rear is for emergency use only as brake lever on handle bars operates all brakes, (news to me). Unit actually has 1336 miles and 185 hours on it so it surprises me that rear pads were worn to limit. I guess that previous owner may have rode brake w/o actually realizing it due to its location and the floorboard design. Does this seem feasible?

Picking it up tomorrow and looking forward to getting out for some ice fishing.

yes, it does seen feasible. have seen many a quads with the rear pads shot because people rode that rear foot pedal without realizing it. rear pedel is good for steep decents, ect, as it wont send you over the handlebars if you press too hard. your front brake lever is 60%front brake force and 40% rear brake force
