So today I got to ride and drag against my buddies Scrambler 1000 and his brothers 850 LE both are brand new. These machines are very very nice. Of course these being LE's and mine a base the suspension was much better. In the drags it really came down to who could keep the front end down. It was roughly 3-400' and actually the 850 was getting better holeshots both 1000's couldn't keep the front end down. They would catch up but it was hard in that distance. Both 1000's are pretty much equal, but I have clutches and a Muzzy's slip on. I do have heavier tires and such but even still all 3 bikes are pretty darn fast for 4x4's. I would have no issue having one.

I just got my 1000 and to be honest performance wise I was really disappointed I would give 3 out 5 for performance, revving up speed is probly the slowest engine ever feels like Harley engine, response is not very impressive, and sluggish, barely spins the wheels, no way this thing puts 50 hp at the wheels,

I traded my yz450f 2013 dirt bike and Raptor 2010 60+hp, and knew the scrambler would not compare but people told me the renegade and scrambler eats those things like fuck all

now I figured why, 800 pound 4x4 and higher top speed plus no shifting makes the bike pull faster, but performance wise its not even 1/2 there, on asphalt from 0 - 120 or 140 which my 2 bike would hit the scrambler or renegade would never come close, I couldn't even keep the front down on those till 4 gear

everything else is awesome about the bike but jessus that thing is sluggish, tractor engine?

wish they would have put high compression piston 91 oct only, and made the counter balance shaft and crank a lot lighter to increase speed up time of the engine who cares about side torque and small vibration seriously its a scrambler? ain't it suppose to be a mix of sport quad and 4x4 seems more like 4x4 trying to look sporty

plus fake dual exhaust, bummed out when I saw that

also very short powerband wise 7250 rpm seems to be rev limiter? a 15 000$ bike and can't put decent valve spring and cams and make a wide powerband of atleast 8000 rpm? not a biggy but makes the bike dull

Couldn't agree more. I love the ride and the suspension but man it feels sluggish. Would love to get back on a dirtbike for the fun factor but the quad is just more inline with the stuff I do with friends. Oh well, can't wait for snowmobile season :D

We'll I have had mine since they came out and the only thing I have changed was I put a clucth kit in it. Mine will either stand strait up or burn the tires on the road. I use to ride dirt bikes and owned a bunch of two stocks a 250 and 500 Quad racers to name a few and for a 800# bike this thing is bad azz. I have had mine to 75 pretty quick and still had more to go. As far riding we ride a lot in the mountains and this thing handles like a small quad not a 800# one. Would trade it for anything love this bike.

When I drove it compared to my Rene the clutch felt "soft" but by golly you punch it you go. For 800# they both book ass

Yeah mine was soft to until I put the QSC clutch kit in it. It really woke it up there is a huge difference in it know.

Im going to order one for my touring and the boys that have the Scramblers I gave them the info and they are ordering there's as well. I love the feel of my 850 once your rolling but feels mushy off the line even thou you are moving pretty well

Good scrambler vs renegade comparison. I'm hoping to do the same comparison soon with my scrambler 1000 and a buddy's renegade 1000. I agree with you guys on the mushy off the line feeling. I think it's just the nature of the engine design. The polaris is a parallel twin vs the v-twin in the canams. V-twin typically has more bottom end torque and parallel twin is typically better midrange power. I'm planning on doing a little clutching on mine to wake up the bottom end a little.

i think the polaris puts the power to the ground better. lining up with my buddys renegade his front end just stands up and i leave him in the dust.
I agree about the 850 but my buddy with his Scrambler 1000 had same issue as I did just not as extreme. The 850 beat both of us to 300'. It just launches better less wheelie

They sure do throw the mud! Does QSC use their own clutch weights in the kit? I tried calling them but no answer.
Talk to ridinagain he is a member and QSC distributor on the forum. He is the man to go to for QSC info.

I have always called Adam at QSC and tell him what am looking for and he has always done a great job. He's done my 800 Sportsman running 32" my 1K and the bike am building know a 850xp with 8" of lift and 32.5 Outlaws.

butt dyno what a joke
take five guys let them ride the grizzly the 800 can am and the 850 polaris
4 out of the five will say Can am then grizzly then the 850
then prove it to them the 850 will win ever time wither its 300 ft or 1000 ft
it does not have to be jerky or high reving with the can am or the short wheel base of a grizzly
polaris is smooth and out right fast

Butt dyno isn't a joke you know what the response and power of your machine you want to have. If you make adjustments and the ol butt dyno doesn't feel like there is an improvement even thou there may be your not going to be happy with it. That's what I'm talking about with butt dyno reference
