if you want more acceleration and can afford to loose some top speed, you can change your gearing. its one of the cheapest noticeable things you can do.
clutch kits, pop a few holes in your air box (make sure you change your jetting to match), loose some weight off of the machine, run i light mixture of race gas and reg. fuel. ignition upgrades, big bore kit
the cheapest, easiest, and probably most reliable mod for adding acceleration is drop 1 tooth on the front sprocket, and possibly add 2-3 more teeth on the rear.
for every 1 tooth drop on the front is like adding 3 teeth to the rear sprocket. so a -1 drop on the front and +3 on the rear is the same as just adding 6 teeth to the rear. this is going to give you a very noticable increase in acceleration
