The gear selector on my 00 400 Xployer is very sloppy and will jam when trying to use low range. Snow plow season is coming up and I’d like to use low range.

How difficult to rebuild and what parts should I replace. Any videos of the shifter rebuild?

Thanks

I just watched a view videos. Looks like I just need to pull the gear selector, disassemble and see what’s worn /broken.

It took quite a bit of time to clean the internals. It was full of mud, it was a mess. I did remove all internals, including all springs and detents. I used steel wool to clean all the parts. This was so full of mud, that I can't believe it worked at all. The broken center pin to me explains why I struggled getting the selector into low range. I'm sure the cracked center selector didn't help. A new boot, center selector, center pin, and low range bell crank has been ordered.
