For the life of me I cannot find anyone who makes a snorkel kit for the latest generation sportsman 400. I'm looking to snorkel a 2012 and 2013 400. I'm pretty confident I could instal a good quality kit if I could find one. Dealers and performance shops want an arm and a leg to fabricate and instal one. I've looked high and low with no luck. Snorkelyouratv.com used to make one but pulled it for the 400. Any ideas or know of a quality pre-fab kit? Thanks in advanced!

I would be willing to bet that the snorkel your atv kit for the 2012-2013 500 will work just fine on your 400. if it were me I would get the 2012-2013 500 kit from triangle atv and install it as I have recently done to my 12 500.

The detail says it's for 05'-09' models. Did it for your 2012?

Yes I bought my kit through high lifter and it was for a 2012 500. Triangle is bad about updating thier website. If you need further assurance or assistance just call triangle atv. They were very helpful to me when I had questions regarding the kit and a few steps of the install process.

Anyone else have any insight or experience? I can't be the only one who's tried/trying to snorkel a latest generation sportsman 400. Every bit helps!

I agree with use the 500 kit. Almost exactly the same machine. Just 44cc difference in the engines.

I noticed over at snorkleyouratv.com they specifically say their 500cc kit isn't for the 400cc. I'm waiting to hear back from a couple companies to see if the kits are compatible. I'm thinking the air box cover/inlet may be different. If that's the case I might pick up a pre-fabbed snorkel cover from rubberdown customs and run the rest of the 500 kit. Sounds good on paper anyways.

Think i will just order the kit they sell for the 500 and give it a shot...

I don't understand what could possibly be that different from the 400 to 500 to make the kits incompatible. If it is the air box top rubberdown customs makes a two chamber top for a snorkel setup.

Pain in the ass. With as many people that have the 400 I don't understand why there's no kits out there. I even rode at busco with the guy that created and runs extreme snorkels (he drives a nasty custom RZR 800) and he said there's not enough demand out there to streamline and mass produce a snorkel kit for the 400.

The new 400s and 500s take the same snorkel kit. the ONLY difference is the bore size and carb. 500 kit WILL fit

Snorkel your atv makes it for a 400 the new model 400 ho witch makes it a 450 so the kit will work

The older 400's were also 455cc i believe..... I am pretty sure the 2011 was...

Two for the Air boxs,clutch intake clutch exhaust

Ok on the clutch intake and exhaust what is currently stock? Is it snorkeld at all or are they down low

They're not too far from top of the gas tank. I'm going to call triangle atv to see if the 500 kit will fit. Need a rad relocate kit too.
