The pre-wires on my Sportsman 500 are metric just short of 4awg. They should be fine for 3,500# winches.
The drive motor wires included with my Superwinch looked larger because they have a thicker jacket. They aren't.

I ran wires directly from the battery to the winch.Now it works fine.That install was insane but at least now I can say I did it my self!!!

the best part is yet to come. when you go to change fluid in the front differential you will get to remove it and have more practice on winch work lol.

That's why you use a switch duty marine grade circuit breaker to double as a power switch for maintenance. :D

Honestly the winch was the easy part.It was all the friggen wiring and taking the quad panels off was the worst part!!!
