That's the top intake duct for the clutch cover. Number 32 in the pic.

It is on the right side, just in front of the gas tank, and right behind the radiator tank. See pictures. It looks kinda like a air intake but that is under the seat.

Those parts are probably there, I just haven't torn it down any further to expose them. Just wanted to know what the heck I was looking at.

Now that I know what it is, I do not think it is related to the issues I am having. But I will probably have to get into it and check for mouse nests. There was some evidence of that just inside the tube.

I was thinking about taking off the transmission cover for routine inspection and maintenance. Will probably tear it all down then...
