i have a 2004 sportsman 400, just put a new stator on it and that fixed my spark problem. i cleaned out the carb. due to sitting for awhile, and now when you go to start it in the morning it wont start right away but after turning the motor over and messing with the throttle and choke, it will start after about 5-10 minutes of turning over. if any body has any ideas please help me out.

have you tried giving it a shot of starting fluid, contact cleaner, or brake cleaner in thru the intake when turning it over to see if it would fire up on that?

yeah i tried that it doesn't do anything, i even whent out and bought fresh startin fluid cause i had some old stuff sittin around the house. but still nothing.

did u check spark or install new plug

Might be worth a look and see if all the carb is back together correctly and hoses in the right spots.
How does it run once it does fire up?
