I have a 2008 sportsman 500 EFI touring. Its new to me, I bought it 2 months ago. I never noticed it until I degreased and power washed the quad last week. Shortly after the front end starting making noise... I thought it was something rubbing, but turns out the springs are rotating when you turn the handle bars left or right. That can't be correct? What am I looking for to either grease or replace. I haven't torn it down yet. We're expecting snow and I use it to plow.

That’s how they work, there might be a bushing on top that needs replaced or it might just be a metal cup

Interesting. Yes, the springs look like they are sitting in a metal cup. So I guess just grease it up as best as possible then?

I never greased mine but what could it hurt?
