You're looking for rev-limiter RPM. 6500 sounds about right. The 570 is over head cam where as the 500 was pushrod to my knowledge. Over head cam motors are capable of higher rev'ing so that's probably the case.

 

Not looking for the rev limiter. Don't want to be running rpm more than stock.

 

Ok I see what you're looking for. But are you saying that when you go full throttle the RPMs reach 6500 before you reach your top speed??

Yes, when I hit the throttle and it accelerates from 5 to about 35 it seems to hold about 6500. Too short a space to each top speed.

 

That's odd, something's got to be off. What kit did you get??

 

Its an EPI SUV kit. WE437437.
I have since seen posts saying the limiter is set a 7500 rpm +or- and typically running over 7200 at max speed. So I should be fine at 6500. Not concerned if it is a little low.
