My 2011 Sportsman 500 one night while riding I stopped to turn around after I reached a dead end on the trail and the engine stalled I was unable to get it to start the first time but I waited a minute tried again and I got it to start but a few minutes later the same thing happened and now after a few days I went to ride it again and now it feels underpowered I have been unable to get it to cut off again but do you have any guess on what’s wrong

If it was not out of fuel (low) my first guess would be the engine overheated and the piston seized slightly causing it to die, after cooling a short time it would then restart, but seized again. Now the compression is lower than normal and it has less power, or the cam has a worn lobe and the engine is not inhaling or exhaling completely and it's short on breath which also lowers compression. But it's just a guess and gives you a place to start looking.
