So I have 1998 500 4x4 and I pulled the starter for repair. While the starter was out my son used the recoil to get it running. Ive since then replace the electric starter and now all it does is spin its not grabbing the flywheel. Do I have to " reset or reposition " the bendix or is it screwed?

You need to make sure the Bendix is aligned properly with the starter. While you have it out give it a bit of a cleaning with brake cleaner or such.
