I have an 04 sportsman 500 that I've replaced the battery, starter solenoid, pick-up coil rectifier, and ignition coil. I just replaced the ignition coil hooked the battery up and it still wont turn over, however it sound like the starter is working faster than normal trying to turn over...any advice?

Unorthodox move but I popped the cover, held the bendix in place, and I turned the key. The starter turned, the bendix expanded, and the fly wheel turned and turned and turned.
*note it will still pull start

Still having the issue where the key where I can pull start but the ignition will not cut it off nor will the kill switch kill it. When I don't have it cranked but have the key switch on it kills all the power.

Unorthodox is not correct - just plain dumb is a better description - operating the starter with the recoil cover off is an invitation to damage an engine case, starter Bendix, starter, flywheel or all. Since a Bendix does not expand, I recommend replacing the Bendix and the bushings in both the engine case and the recoil cover.

Now since using the recoil starter typically turns the engine faster than the starter motor does, I recommend checking the valve adjustment.
