hay friends I have a 1999 trailblazer that I have bought 3 starters and none will fit.watched youtube vid.and feller took one out,his had a big hole where bendex goes and mine has a small rectangular hole in bottem of dendex well.what do I have ?im lost and don't know what I need,any help thanks

You need a Bendix - the rectangular hole is where the reduction gear engages the starter motor armature - it looks like the starter motor is missing the armature

Do you have a pic of the new starter you got?

You need starter motor # 3087043 and Bendix # 3080034

The parts pictured should be the parts needed to replace your starter.

The original part # for the 97 Trailblazer was 3085392 - it superseded to 3085393

Today, part numbers 3084402, 3085282, 3085392 and 3085393 all supersede to 3087043 - these starters were used on the 1996 to 2006 Trailblazer 250 and the following models:

The pictures confuse me - it looks like the old starter broke away from the mounting flange - I could tell better if I had it in hand

Hello new guy on this link got your name while serching for info on changing cam on 2004 400 4x4 sportsman . Not ho but is the late 2004 model (Found this out when changing the computer mod ) have full post under newbie page under bob6x on polaris page . Have change carb ides great cuts out at have throttel but runs fine to that point , is it a hard job changing cam . Is there a good manaul out there . Have read basics Strip plastic and tank get motor TDC pull gear keep tension on timming change set valves at .006. Any info helpful thanks
