Hello, I have a 99 Sportsman and went out for some plowing this morning.

It is COLD out, but it started right up (I was running it yesterday). About 20 seconds later it stalled.

I gave it a few minutes as I did things around the garage and started it back up. This time it took a few turns but did start and run fine for around 20 seconds again. Then it sputtered and shut off. I'm not doing anything to it, it is just sitting there.

It has gas but is acting like it doesn't. But wouldn't that mean it wouldn't start at all if it was a fuel pump issue?

Any thoughts? Thank you!

They draw fuel from the float bowl. The pump just keeps filling it up. Or out may be nothing more than its really cold out. Did you have the choke on to keep it running? That could have flooded it out. Did it run ok once you got it to stay running?
