Same issue

I can't believe but my story , is the same as yours. Out on a nice ride, a little rocky and hard.
My handlebars started to dip to the left. I had to push back down on the right ....

Long story short at home looked and saw metal fatigue on the mount.

I will be welding it and let you know my results.

I was watching dirt trax tv. There's a company in usa that makes a steering stem reinforcment (at least for brp) that has a long tube that passes inside steer tube and a reinforced flange on the top

I thank you for this information. I think my first step will be to have a friend weld the separated steering mount. It has ripped cleanly and matches up very well. If that is a bust I will be looking into this part from the USA>

2001 Polaris Sportsman HO

Had same thing happen today. Rocky ride but handlebars completely disconnected from steering stem. Luckily was able to tow it home slowly. Thanks for this info. Will be doing the same thing.
