Hood Automotive tire Bumper Motor vehicle Nut

I have a 2001 sportsman 400. I just did the 2” highlifter lift kit , and the new sway bar links are too short. The new ones are only a 1/4” longer then the stocks.

I don’t know if I need to buy new ones (can’t find any online), or rig up something. Any info helps.

Are you riding fast around corners?

Sway bars are for driving faster and at a good speed.

When I. The woods or in the mud, it's arguable that you don't want sway bars. They prevent the tires from travelling lower and independently.

When in mud you want to get the tire deep to the bottom for grip. When in the woods when over uneven terrain, you want both tires in the ground. If the difference between the left and the right terrain is considerable different height, then you want one tire to reach lower and have grip too.

So you may not even want them. I know many people who remove them. The High Lifter sportsman's models don't have sway bars either.

I’d prefer to have them because I go to parks with lots of fast, straight riding along with mud holes. With my fourwheeler being light and little, it already gets through holes no issues.
I just don’t know if leaving them off would be safe.
