most ive done was check the timing on the bike also didnt have spark turned out to be the ETC didnt even know what that was until last night only paid 500 for the bike the kid that had it bought it new and fliped it and was to affraid to get back on it whats your thought on the predator
The predator has a shim under bucket style valve, not the simple loosen the nut and adjust the screw type. Do a little youtube searching and you will find some good videos on doing it. It's not that hard, but takes longer and is a little more complicated. They should be checked every 20-25 hours at most. As little as 10 if you ride it hard.
Also more then likely you should put a new timing chain while your in there if they've never adjusted the valves more then likely the chain is stretched out...... it's an intimidating job by looks but it you watch what your doing and and take your time reading the manual thoroughly you will breeze by it...
