My 1st post here. I've come across a '99 diesel for sale ($600) that's not running. The seller thinks the fuel has gelled. If that indeed is the problem, how to you test for this (before trying to correct a problem that isn't the problem!) and is it going to be a big task to correct the problem? I've zero experience working on diesels.

Also, what's the noise level like with the diesel? I've got PITA neighbors and don't want to start another war!

Thanks in advance. :)

A little 911 diesel treatment, some heat, and an hour of time would tell you for sure BUT:

Those diesels were JUNK....not running I wouldn't walk I would RUN

Thanks. I'm wondering if things like injector pumps and injectors are things that can be cleaned out in the same way a carb can be when varnished up from old gas. I'm not having any luck finding a FSM for the Polaris diesel. The closest I've found is for a 2007 Arctic Cat 700. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find one?

I'm not concerned about the diesel's lack of speed. I'd mostly (only?) be using it to drag firewood home from around home.
