Father in law has a 2005 500HO. Just died on him. After tearing it down, the timing chain has disengaged from the lower (crank) sprocket. Getting a puller tomorrow to remove the flywheel. Pulled the valve cover off...nothing broken there. Other than replacing the chain and checking valve clearance, what else should I be looking at?

Tensioner was maxed out. Chain guides look ok.

In hindsight, the engine was making a clacking noise at very low rpm. I wonder if that was the timing chain slapping around.
