I have an '09 Sportsman 500 HO with factory tires/rims atm.

I am looking at upgrading at least the tires for now but I am curious about tires that will fit the stock rims.

Stock sizes are
F: 25x8x12
R: 25x11x12

A lot of the tires I see are 25/26/27x9x12 for fronts and 25/26/27x12x12 for rear.

How wide can I go on the stock rims before I start running into fitment issues?
Will a spacer be required if running tires that are 1" wider than stock?

Was looking at the Traxion Gripper Tires Size: (2) 26x9-12 + (2) 26x11-12 and while the Rear is same as stock width the front obviously is not.

TIA

Not toally sure on the 09' but on the newer sportsman, anything wider than 8" up front will rub the tie rod end.

Soooo your options are spacers, or offset rims.

9" fronts might require a 1/4" spacer and/or a tie rod flip. wider than that will require a larger spacer.

All of those tires will fit the OEM wheels. Anything wider than 8" up front will need a spacer if using the OEM wheels.
