I just purchased an o3 700 sp, i went riding with my neighbour yesterday, he has an09 500sp, at top speed we were neck and neck virtually identical, does this seem right, we were running 55 mph, i thought the 700 would leave him in the dust, anything i should be checking out. thanks.

I have an 06 800 and my top speed right now is 60mph depending on the day but I am also running a clutch kit and 28" tires so I no that that is going to slow me down some.
do have the stock size tire , if yours are a bigger tire you will lose a little on top end. Also the amount of hours you have could be a factor, if you have high miles and hours say 3000 or 4000 miles your engine is gettin a little tired
The tires are 28x10x12 and 28x12x12 so deffinatly lose topend there. I just rebuilt the top end late fall but I did it because I had very low comp. looks like the guy that had it before me swamped it bad.So running a new engine right now but should loosen up a bit as it breakes in,Also i am going to pull the clutches here soon and go through them. What do you or anybody els recommend for a clutch kit because I might just put in a new one when I have it apart.

i have about 3000 miles, but if what messin around says is correct it sounds like 55 mph should be about right, possible the 500 and 700 are geared differently, if i would have know this i would have just bought a 500 , oh well live and learn.
The extra torque from the 700 will get you up to speed quicker than the 500, especially up-hill.

It didn't seem to, but that could be because my tires are older and possibly they were spinning too much, i will let you guys know, thanks for the replies.
