I have a 1988 Polaris Trail Boss 250 2x4, but the electric start doesn’t work but the headlight works, and when I jump the solenoid it does nothing. When I put power directly to it is also does nothing, no sparks or anything. What is my problem? Is my starter just dead?

When you put power directly to the starter you mean? If so then you either have a dead starter or the bendix is binding somehow.
Power directly to the starter motor with no sparks as you attach and detach the power source indicates a starter motor with no continuity - if you get sparks, but the motor does run, then the starter is bound up.
You replace the starter motor - no pulling apart necessary, other than removing the recoil cover, the belt cover, the clutches and the inner belt cover to unbolt the starter motor bracket - words of wisdom; replace the Bendix th the same time as the starter motor.
