On a 05 Sportsman 500 HO is the shift lever adjustable, my issue is when the engine is cold for reverse and low I have to wiggle the lever to get it to engage, I am thinking possible adjustment or lighter oil in the trans?

That's normal until the engine warms up and idle at a lower rpm.

Question..... is your transmission interlock still functioning? In other words.... you should have to apply the foot brake to shift out of and into park and into high range.

The transmission on my wifes 2005 400 was a little finicky (hard to get into / land on a gear). So, I cleaned the clutches, scotch brited sheaves and replaced the belt with a new one. After that it went into gear a heck of alot easier!!

Yes, the interlock is still working, replaced the belt with the OEM one and cleaned clutches this Last summer, don't really use the machine a lot, has only 1600 miles on it.
