I blew up my belt on a 2002 500. It got tangled up in the clutch so I am cleaning it up. I got to the one way bearing and between the bearing and stationary side it looked like a belt was jammed in there. So I tried picking it out, but I thought maybe that’s not belt but a washer.
Is there any washer (soft fiber washer) between the one way bearing and stationary sheeve? I looked at the parts diagram and it does show a washer there but I don’t know what material that washer would be.

Yes, there are two, one on each side. #2 & #18 in the attached picture. You have to take the clutch halves apart to install them.

My washer is a little chewed up around the edges but I got the ATV running again. It was a Gate carbon belt that blew. I always thought it was too tight when I installed it.
