I would try to find a machine specific mount for it to start. If you can't do that then you will havehave to get to fabricating something.

 

ya thats what i was thinking but looking at the bike they didnt make it easy to fab something up lol to hold a wench and id want it up high so its not acting as a plow

 

I have a Moose winch and mount on my 325 Magnum. Mounts off the 2 bolts on each side that the top of the grill use. Bracket off the front of the frame, lower end of the front rack mount and the top of the grill all use these same bolts. From what I found, that's about the only place there is. Moose may still have a mount for your machine.

 

ok so i just looked up the moose you recomended stave7119 and nope no mount for my bike ill keep looking around

whats yalls thought on a rear mounted wench i think i found a good place and i figure if you can get in it you should be able to come back out the same way right

well its a lot easier to mount my wench its more of a plug and play applacation :veryhappy:

my winch on the other hand is being a little b!@#h

and for ridinagain the back of mine does not have the hitch hole only a spot to bolt on a ball that was going to be my quick fix

 

There are 2" receiver mounts that bolt to the Ball location. I thought about getting one, waiting for them to go on sale local to me again. The usually come as a kit, with the hitch for a Ball, the hook and hole.

I actually had a 2" Winch Mount plate before I got my atvs, I was going to use on my truck. Ended up selling it for $20 more then i paid for it. (Was brand new, never used)

my 325 Came with a factory winch mount on the front by the grille, I just purchased a new Warn winch to replace the old warn on that was on it, The old owner broke the remote, plus I want synthetic rope. So figured just get a hole new kit.

 

that thing is cool looking but i think a found a way to mount it up front ill post some pics when i get it done im going to try to work on it this weekend

and im fairly new whats suppose to be better about using synthetic rope vs the cable that normally comes on a winch

 

Its my first real winch for myself. I got it for the first 2 reasons.

It doesnt hold tension as-much so if it breaks it tends to fall, not whip like steel cable, reducing the possibility of getting hurt by it.
Its Very light and you dont "require" gloves to use it (it doesnt splinter like steel cable can and cut you)
It floats on water.
You can splice it back together fairly easily if it breaks and it wont loose strength.

Im fond of it, as the 30' Piece I had in my old atvs winch (POS winch) is 3/16 I think and has a breaking strength of over 5000lbs. I Plan to turn this piece into a extension for my new one.

you can look it up the rope is dyneema.

well finally got something figured out and got all cut welded bedlinered and ready to go on so by monday i should have pics up to see

 

I used a piece of 1/8 inch plate, welded across the front push bar with 1" square tubing as a receiver, with pin style, did the same on the rear, wired winch to both ends, carry it on the rear, its on a 97-425, if I knew how to post [pictures Id show it to you.

 

You have to upload your pics to photo bucket and then pull them from there pain in the butt but works I'll haver mine done this weekend

 

Mounting a wench and mounting a winch are two completely different things. Send picture of wench and we will tell you if it's worth mounting or not. Don't know about the winch for the 425

ok fellas I mounted a wench and a winch last night and both came out great





when I got the bike it didn't have a spedo so that proved to be a perfect spot to mount the winch controls



I think it came out pretty dam good what yall think

Lol OK twostarrz I'm 35 been welding since 15 and went to school for welding and no I used a full size Miller mig welder I have complete faith in my welds the bumper will break before my welds Lol but thinks for the concern
