I’m trying to figure out it my ranger 500 has the correct primary clutch in it. It doesn’t have a one way or two way bearing in it at all. Just the smooth shaft.
The problem I’m having is with both clutches spinning at idle and not being able to shift it.

Thanks for any help.

Idle set to high or wrong belt
I just did a vin search for that vehicle, it has the correct clutch in it. Clutch is getting cleaned and new belt on its way.
I’ll check the idle if it still persists.
Thanks for the reply

Spacers #2 may be worn or missing causing too little belt clearance

And/Or... You may need to add/subtract shim washers #2 behind the secondary for proper belt alignment in the clutches. Polaris calls for a max of 3 washers.

Just remove the secondary and add or subtract washers to move it in or out on the shaft if the belt isn't running in the center of the primary at idle.
