maybe the drive gear is still out and did not spring back on the starter? i looked on my manual but its for an 01 with no display.

 

I thought the same thing I talked to a guy who ownes a polaris dealership and he said the controller can not detect that. I'm just trying to fix it to save a big repair bill.

 

Are you sure it's not STATR, w/o the 1st R? As in Stator -charging problem?

 

You might be correct if so would it be the stator or could it be something else?

 

could be the stator or voltage regulator. or a bad battery or bad connections. i had battd / loose battery connections while at the hatfield mccoy and blew the headlights out and had battery lights off and on.

I would make sure its charging first, a multi meter to battery terminals will tell.

 

Got it fixed

It was bare wires in my stator rubbing against each other it ended up burning up my modular before the problem was found.
