I have a 2008 sportsman 800 x2 efi and am wondering what type of oil i should use, at the moment I have Sae 75w-140 Gear oil (full synthetic)

Well... your Polaris machine doesn't actually have any differentials.
In the rear, the tranny and final drive are all one piece and it uses a chaincase lubricant. Polaris AGL tranny fluid or Amsoil chaincase lube are the two favorites.
The front gearcase uses Polaris Demand Drive fluid. Its a very thin hydraulic type oil. It can be substituted with ATF.
There's NOTHING on your machine that would use 75w-140. Its WAY too heavy.
