EH420PLE020361 identifies the engine as a 425 (EH420PL) serial # 020361

If you contact Polaris customer service, they might be able to provide the VIN from the engine number

The images are pages from the service manual

So with the information I provided have you determined what model you have?

So, by cross referencing those parts I reckon it must be the 1997 MAGNUM 6X6 (W97AE42A). I’m pretty sure it’s not the Swedish one, however I’ll need to check with the customer service guys to be sure I think.

I’m also going to try and check the vin locations from the diagram you sent over... it seems a lot clearer than the ones I could find ??. As soon as I know for sure, I’ll let you know ??.

Out of interest; for a light service like sparks, oil and filter changes would the year play a massive difference as long as I know it’s a 4 stroke etc...?

Cheers

NO, the spark plug, oil filter and oil would be the same for pretty much all the 425's

Wow! Awesome thread, jam packed with good info I've been looking for regarding my Magnum 425, year unknown until I locate the VIN...So stupid the way Polaris moved them around on each model. Not sure if other manufacturers move the location around like that, but geez... Seems to me motorcycles put the VIN in the same place, on the steering head. Wish me luck on finding it!
