I recently bought a 8' piece of synthetic rope for the winch to raise the snow plow. Its a little thicker than the rope that's on there now. Do I need to take off the 50' rope and then put the 8' piece on? Or just leave it on there and loop the 2 together. I assume that it would work either way. I was just curious on what everyone else does.

I would take off the 50ft rope so you don't get everything tangled. A short rope or cable rarely will have a problem on a plow.

Thanks. Thats what I did. I had a hell of time trying to get that bigger rope thru the spool on the winch but I finally got it.
