I took a Polaris Xplorer 300 4x4 in trade for body work on a customers car. The wheeler starts and runs fine with the pull start but the lights and the electric start are dead. I charged the battery before I tried to start the machine, I have power at the ignition and power at both sides of the breaker under the seat in the black bag. Weirdest thing is if you push the kill switch on the left bar to "off" it lights up but the motor continues to run...only the key will kill it. The 4x4 is also inop.
This machine did sit outside without a tarp over it. Grounds? Switches?
Anyone have any thoughts?
Edit
I downloaded a service manual and took a look at the wiring schematic..it looks as though the lights and the starter switch get their power from a switch on the transmission..anyone know of a way to do a temp bypass for testing purposes?
