Please excuse my nontechnical jargon. I've got a strange problem this morning. I fired up my Magnum 330 to warm it up. While it was idling, I heard a whining sound I'd never heard before from the right sight of the motor. Turned it off but the sound kept going. Only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. When I attempt to reconnect the battery, the motor cranks as soon as I touch the cable to the battery post. Thumb switch is off and the key is in my pocket.

I installed a new battery yesterday and a new solenoid about a month ago. It ran fine all day yesterday. Any ideas?? Thanks.

sounds like a bad solenoid, there is always power to the solenoid until the, i beleive, the ignition switch send additional power to the solenoid

Test the small wires to the selenoid if they don't have power the selenoid is stuck try hitting it with a screwdriver a couple times to free it up if that dosn't work you will need to replace it. If the small wires have power it is a problem else where.
