ETC= electronic throttle control in the throttle lever box there is a set of points that must have a gap. You adjust the throttle cable about 10" down from the box so you've got about 1/8" slack. its a safety feature to cut ignition in case of broken throttle cable.
fuel filter up under front on frame between the struts. Its a big metal canister just like on your pickup and you can get a replacement at auto parts store.
Fuel pressure is checked at the fuel rail Schrader valve and should be around 40 psi. Pump is in the tank like your pickup and replacement can be gotten at the auto store...common issue.
Plugs/wires/boots are self explanatory.
Air intake, filter, box, throttle body connections must all be tight and sealed or it won't run good at all.
Likewise, if the throttle body gets dirty/gunked up it will run bad.
TBAP=temp/ barometric air pressure sensor on the intake in front of the air box.
TPS=throttle position sensor on the side of the throttle body just like your automobile works sorta like a rheostat increases voltage with throttle valve opening and tells computer amount and duration of injector spray. It must increase voltage smoothly throughout its range of movement without any jumps or dead spots. Must be calibrated/set along with throttle stop/idle screw for correct idle speed and function.
Oil pressure ...since that engine has hydraulic lifters if the regulator dowel sticks from wear/lack of maintenance low oil pressure can affect performance/running.
Low compression and oil consumption causes a whole other set of problems...carbon-caked valves etc. that just compound each other also causing poor performance.
You just have to start checking and eliminating things till you narrow it down. Use the search function of the forum and do a lot of reading. Any problem you could possibly have has been discussed on here at one time or another.
Oh yeah...you should be able to find a good used speedo on ebay pretty reasonable...you REALLY need one.
A service manual is also indespensible.
