None of the Polaris LnR boxes are made for two up riding...

BUT there are a bunch of other makers making them!! Look at Thor's site The ATV Superstore

Agreed. Lock and Ride are great storage, and may even have a back rest, but none come with a seat. The Polaris seat extends back pretty far, but probably not far enough to seat a passenger comfortably. I use a Big Wes Box since it has a nice padded seat. And always Bolt it to the rack. Don't trust just strapping it on. I also HIGHLY recommend passenger foot pegs. Makes the passenger A LOT more stable.

 

This is starting to sound expensive..

It always is when you start trying to make a 1 up comfortable for two people.

May also want to check with your laws. Many states it is illegal to ride 2 up on a machine not designed to do so.

Modifying the atv is not expensive. Girlfriends are expensive. I should have put that...lol

 

The problem with Gf's is........I'll stop now.

 

Here's the thing, take box and take beer/stuff.

No take box, get something to keep her tail bone off the rear rack.

I have seen a number of guys bolt a bass fishing boat seat to the rack in a pinch....

Yeah...the Touring is an exceptional machine! The added wheelbase length is another benefit when riding 1-up.

Thats why I bought an X2, I have lots of storage when needed and room for the gf when shes not on her machine.

 

agreed, X2 is best of both worlds.

 

If I get anything bigger it will another SxS.

That's not nearly as bad as I envisioned.

The thing with boxes and seats back there is the shear size of them...we ride in some tight trails and that thing is gonna take a beating.

 

I have a big box on my 01 Sportsman, and it is a problem on tight trails. Even though it doesn't stick out beyond the fenders, when you are going between two close trees on a sidehill it hits. It sure is nice to have all that room for stuff though.

 

i should elaborate. i'd buy the 550 in the X2 and give up my 850 if they'd make the 550 X2 with eps.
