scrambler 90 year?

How do I tell what year this quad is? Where is the vin?

I picked this quad up used and it currently isnt running. It has been beat up a little. Rear fender is cracked where the battery sits so that needs to be replaced or repaired.

Also, in looking at the wiring harness, after I removed the rear fender, it looks like the inline fuse housing isnt connected on the rear end. Is this the low oil warning? Previous owner said the battery is bad that needs replaced too

VIN should be stamped on the cross member between the frame rails above the front axle. If you have a 2 stroke it's earlier than 2008. That is when all the 90cc machines went to 4 strokes.

The 10th digit in the VIN will be the year. You can enter it Here and should be able to find out everything you need.

I have an '03 Predator 90 for the grandkids. All the 90s will be the same. Without a wiring diagram in front of me I am not sure what your wire is. Looks like a main wire though. Fused connection from the battery or solenoid is my guess.

I have to guess you are right about the year. Polaris alternates the year designation from numbers to letters every 10 years. Current decade is letters. All the 2 stroke 90s were the same so I am betting that the broken wire will connect to the + on the battery since there is a terminal there. That wire should provide power to the rest of the system. Once you get it connected your electric start should work.

Ok, makes sense. I will give it a try on my next day off.

I have to repair the rear fender where the battery sits(horrible design flaw) not reinforced and battery eventually brakes it way from the rest of the fender. I think some small bolts through pre-drilled holes with some wire wrapped around them on each side should lift it up and hold it where it needs to be.

Eton I think, but don't quote me on that. I can look at mine when I get home.
