All the weight is on the tailgate cables.....chain is too loose, should be the other way around, weight on the chains slack in the cables

 

No doubt about it. I replaced the cables, the chains were kind of an after thought. I’m working on a trailer. Absolutely hate loading into a Tacoma, just nice to know “ if I have to” I can

No it doesn’t. In the online pictures it had some skinny tires too so I’ll take the trade off. The rear ultimate series bumper is sort of wierd looking and it doesn’t protect the lightS.

Little squat for sure, and I put in heavy duty leaf springs couple years ago.

Put a piece of plywood down on the bed covering the tailgate also, will add strength. Tacos have failure prone tailgates.

The do look nice but, from a practical standpoint, I find them to be a huge waste of money.
They make fine grocery getters I guess.

my 2013 2500 6.0 gas has been great

I can’t even put brake pads on it yet at 120k . And it will not come out of alignment. I don’t have anything to complain about.

I replaced a radiator , tires and oil changes . Oh and lots and lots of gas but that’s it ...

 

Instead of hauling the ATV with the truck it would make more since to haul the truck with the ATV

That depends on what you use it for. Definitely not good for hauling around full size atvs😂😂. Or sheets of plywood. If you use it as a daily driver, and off road as I do it’s like a car with a really big trunk. Besides, I got a decent deal on it which sometimes it all comes down to money. If I was rich, I’d buy a brand new Chevy for sure.

 

Side bar note; Our ranger has the 6ft bed and I'd sure not want the shorter version. Its 276hp and 10 speed tranny rocks at towing!

Thanks. I did have a similar year Tacoma that I occasionally hauled an Atv in no problems.

 

Our ranger with its 275hp power plant is the highest in the "little truck" class. I'd guess we could tow our camper into the 90's mph with it. I believe it has more torque than all of the Tacoma's built. We traded in a taco when we needed more towing capability.
