I know this has been asked many times, but for my 2001 sportsman 400, should i use 0w-40, amsoil 0w-50 mobil 1 or 5w-50 castrol i usually only use my atv in the winter, what would be the best oil for me
I gotcha....I knew it had to enter that block somewhere to get to those heads. Cant say I've ever seen that though...Thanks for the replyStill flows thru the front block passages and thru the heads to keep the head temps down. The motor was built for a pull truck that travels 300ft in about 6 seconds.
Dude, he's just being douche, don't give him the satisfaction of an argument. People that actually do their own research, instead of whining you didn't post a dissertation with your post, will find that the additives work...chemically and scientifically proven over decades of work. Maybe they don't teach chemistry in his part of TN... Either way just ignore him :cowboy:Well Vandul, I did not time this or that. I could bs and say I did...but for what? I didnt put "snake oil" in my cooling system or put holy water in. I put coolant boost in. I noticed a difference in my bike, being that ive owned it for a few years now I know how it is. That being said..maybe you should have a look around on the internet a lil wee bit and see how many people have proven it works. I've also said the sky is blue, but without matching it up to a swatch....I cant be sure...
Perhaps they're trying to take advantage of the latest advances in oil technology and back-specing the latest-and-greatest to all their engines. When Polaris sold and recommended 0w40 there weren't many 5w50 oils around and those that were around were high-dollar racing oils. Now oil technology makes 5w50 oil available at a reasonable price and it covers more temperature ranges, truly an arctic to the equator, around the world oil, so they upgraded their spec. Why do polaris keep changing the weight of their oil, seems you can run pretty much anything in these machines
