Ranger or RZR ?

I'm asking this question here because I think I'll get a bias answer if I ask in the rzr forums or ranger forums, I see there is a separate forum for each.

I currently own a 2011 sportsman 500 HO, I pland on keeping it, and buying either a rzr or ranger, I don't know which..

I'm 6'1, 240 lbs, will I fit in a rzr ?

This will be for riding on my land ( 6 acres of woods ) making my own trails. And riding forrest roads up north, as well as some normal trail riding and normal muddying.

In I way I want the rzr as I heard it can go 72 mph? Is that true, and how much slower is the ranger if any?

They seem so close to the same, it's hard to decide?

It's really dependent upon what you plan on using it for. If you're using it for work get the ranger, if you just want to play with it, get the rzr. I'm 6'5 and fit in the rzr.

The RZR cab doesn't change if the width does. It's just longer a-arms.

I am 6'3 and 270 and I fit comfortably enough in a RZR. It's snug, but I like that.

The RZR feels more powerful, not sure I that really is the case. You won't want to be hauling ass on a trail offroad on the ranger though. With it having a bench seat on top of the motor it will feel more unstable. The RZR feels stable since you sit lower and forward of the motor.

The ranger is a very work oriented and capable toy.

Thing about your intended uses. If its 80% work 20% play go with the ranger.

If its 80% play 20% work go with the RZR.

Both come in 4 seater options so that is a mute point.

It's kinda the difference between a pick up truck or a jeep. What do you want to do with it?

In a way I want the 4 up ranger so I can bring along a friend or my dad, but in a way I want the rzr so I can rip ass down the road....

So how much difference in power or grunt is there between the 4up ranger and the rzr 50" ?

Sounds like you want the RZR 4.

I think I want the rzr4, but the cheapest one is $17995 ? Jesus! Inwas pushing my luck spending $10,000 !

I may go with the rzr 570,

Is it true, the 570 is a new improved tourqey motor, and the rzr 800 is a dinosaur motor?

Sounds like the RZR then, but the 4-up is way out of my price range, unless I find a used one for $8,000, but I've never seen them on craiglist, only the 2up, maybe their not that popular ?

you probably would fit the RZR, the 50" only goes about 60 though it's the XP900 that goes 72. standard Rangers go about 60 as well.

one thing to think about as well is that the full size "700/800/900" Rangers can seat 3 people ;) one more then the standard RZR and less then the RZR4 while maintaining the smaller wheelbase.

I went with the Ranger 900 myself, kept looking at the 800 RZR though, it was cheaper XD but interior size and the Profit Cab system won me over!

Edit. also i don't think there's that much bias between the forums. the RZR guys know the Ranger is a better work horse, and the Ranger guys know the RZR is for fun.

From the sounds of it, you would be better off buying s Jeep.

You should also take a look at the Ranger 800 Midsize. The speed of a RZR with the capabilities of a pure utility.
