Hello all,

I have read through all the threads I could find in relation to my issue, and have not found anything. Currently I have a 2016 Outlaw 110, with no spark. battery is great, it turns over, just is not generating a spark. the plug looks good, but i'd like some pointers on the best way to test the Stator, ECU & Ignition coil. Or any other part of the system that could cause this issue..if I could rule out any of the 3 components that would be great. I'm about to just throw an ignition coil at is since its the most affordable option..

Thank you!

Check for 12v on the red/yel wire of the coil - no voltage, replace the 5 amp fuse - check for DC volts on the red/wht wire on pin 26 of the ECU - test the stator (pulse generator) by checking continuity between the blue/yellow and green wires - if it has continuity and is not shorted to ground, check the peak voltage output (typically 3 to 5 volts) - if you haven't found the problem up to this point and all tests good, flip a coin and either find the bad connection in the wiring (including grounds), replace the ECU or take it to the dealer and have them run the diagnostics on it.

thank you! I know I have voltage at the coil, so we can rule out the fuse. I will check pin 26 on the ECU, what would this indicate? and on the stator, where would I be checking the peak voltage? I assume directly at the ignition coil would be the best place? thanks, I apologize, I am an electrician, but this fourwheeler stuff is a bit different than what I am used to working on. Its hard to wrap my mind around this without a schematic. I should probably just break down and buy the service manual for it.

So here's an interesting one.... check the EFI Relay (on R-side, visible between front fascia / R-side cover mounted on frame that says "EFI" with big bold white letters) and perform a resistance / continuity test on that.

These Outlaws run their spark thru the EFI Relay ironically enough. Found that out the other day diagnosing a fuel pump and testing other items to verify all was well.
